Austin reiterated the U.S.'s dedication to a diplomatic solution in Lebanon that ensures Israeli and Lebanese civilians can safely return to their homes on both sides of the border. He also highlighted the importance of securing the release of all hostages, including American citizens, and addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

In addition, Secretary Austin expressed concern over recent attacks against Israeli citizens in Amsterdam and extended sympathies while offering any necessary assistance.
