Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken held a conversation with United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During the call, Secretary Blinken reiterated the United States' ongoing commitment to ending the conflict in Gaza swiftly. The discussion included efforts to secure hostage releases, enhance sustainable assistance, and chart a course for Palestinians in Gaza to rebuild their lives while advancing governance, security, and reconstruction.
Additionally, the dialogue touched on diplomatic resolutions in Lebanon aimed at allowing civilians on both sides of the Blue Line to return home.
On the situation in Sudan, Secretary Blinken emphasized expanding humanitarian access, halting fighting, and supporting a political process for establishing a civilian government. He expressed gratitude to the Foreign Minister for the UAE's humanitarian aid contributions to both Gaza and Lebanon and its continued role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
