The group is led by Rick Spinrad, Ph.D., Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and NOAA Administrator, alongside Heather Evans, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Manufacturing.

The conference brings together senior officials from the Biden-Harris Administration and leaders from over 190 countries to discuss climate action. Rick Spinrad and Heather Evans will highlight the role of U.S. businesses in developing clean technology and other climate-friendly solutions. They will also showcase NOAA’s contributions to climate research and policy decisions.

NOAA plans to engage in discussions about enhancing global climate resilience and promoting science-based adaptation strategies. The organization will participate in bilateral meetings and events focused on collaboration with domestic and international partners.

The International Trade Administration (ITA) will be involved in engagements aimed at strengthening international cooperation. They plan to meet with firms, associations, and civil society organizations to discuss industry partnerships related to climate adaptation, resilience, clean energy supply chains, methane abatement in the oil and gas sector, among other topics.
