Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs, Sarah Morgenthau, is set to lead a U.S. private sector delegation to Papua New Guinea from November 18-20. The visit aims to enhance bilateral economic cooperation and commercial ties between the two nations.

The delegation, organized with the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU), includes representatives from a dozen U.S. companies. These companies operate in various sectors such as technology, education, energy, mining, healthcare, water, and transportation.

During the visit, Special Representative Morgenthau and the delegation will engage with senior officials from Papua New Guinea's government. The discussions will focus on exploring new business opportunities and emphasizing U.S. initiatives aimed at strengthening shared economic security. Additionally, Morgenthau will meet with local participants involved in a joint initiative by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) in partnership with Nationwide Microbank (MiBank). This initiative supports small businesses and promotes women's economic empowerment.

This visit follows the inaugural U.S.-Papua New Guinea Strategic Partnership Dialogue held last month in Washington, D.C.
