TechNet, a national bipartisan network of CEOs and senior executives from the innovation economy, has appointed Katie Kelly as Executive Director for Florida and the Southeast Region. In her new role, Kelly will manage TechNet's state advocacy efforts in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Linda Moore, President and CEO of TechNet, expressed confidence in Kelly's capabilities: "With state legislatures poised for more action in 2025 than ever before, Katie’s extensive government experience and strong relationships will help us continue to deliver outstanding results for our members. We are thrilled to have her join the team."
Kelly brings nearly two decades of experience in Florida politics to her new position. Previously employed at Manson Bolves Donaldson Tanner as a Government Affairs Specialist, she has advised state House and Senate members on diverse policy issues such as economic development and environmental regulation.
Her previous roles include deputy legislative affairs director and deputy chief of staff at the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. She also served as a liaison across various levels of government within three of Florida’s water management districts.
David Edmonson, TechNet’s Senior Vice President of State Policy and Government Relations stated: “The addition of a Florida-based region continues TechNet’s commitment to fielding the strongest 50-state advocacy program in the country." He added that Kelly's appointment strategically positions TechNet to promote legislative solutions prioritizing American innovation throughout the Southeast.

TechNet's 50-state advocacy program emphasizes legislative and regulatory advocacy nationwide. The organization aims to foster relationships between member companies and policymakers while supporting key federal initiatives locally.
Apart from the Southeast Region led by Kelly from Tallahassee starting December 2nd, TechNet's advocacy extends across other regions including California and the Southwest; Colorado and Central U.S.; Illinois and Midwest; Massachusetts and Northeast; Pennsylvania and Mid-Atlantic; Texas and South; Washington state alongside Northwest areas.
