The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has released its Agency Financial Report for the Fiscal Year 2024. This document outlines the agency's achievements in consumer protection and competition promotion, while also emphasizing a commitment to resource stewardship and financial management.
Mandated by the Office of Management and Budget, the report features annual audited financial statements alongside an assessment from the Office of the Inspector General. This evaluation covers key management accomplishments and areas where performance can be improved. The FTC's independent financial statement audit for FY 2024 marks its 28th consecutive unmodified opinion, which is considered the highest available audit opinion.
This report will be submitted to Congress and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget as required by several acts including the Chief Financial Officers Act of 1990, amended by subsequent legislation like the Reports Consolidation Act of 2000, Government Management Reform Act of 1994, Accountability of Tax Dollars Act of 2002, and Annual Management Reports under Chapter 91 of title 31, United States Code.
