NFIB-backed candidates achieve high success rate in Tennessee elections

Small businesses in Tennessee experienced a favorable outcome in the recent general election. The NFIB Tennessee PAC endorsed 91 candidates, of which 87 emerged victorious. This includes 74 members elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives and 13 to the state Senate. According to the organization, this marks a success rate of 96%, an all-time high for their state PAC.

Federal elections are still pending final results, but as of now, the NFIB FED PAC reports an approximately 82% success rate. The organization expressed gratitude towards its members who supported both state and federal political action committees.

In Nashville, twenty-seven NFIB members won their respective state elections or reelections last Tuesday, setting a national record. The General Assembly will see twelve new members, including Renea Jones in House District 4 and Bobby Harshbarger in Senate District 4.

Despite significant spending by both political parties on various campaigns aimed at changing seat distribution, the composition remained unchanged with Republicans holding super-majorities in both chambers: 75 Republicans and 24 Democrats in the House and 27 Republicans and six Democrats in the Senate.

Governor Bill Lee, also an NFIB member, is set to serve the remaining two years of his second term. The upcoming session of the General Assembly is scheduled to begin on January 14.

On a federal level, President Trump secured Tennessee with nearly double the votes compared to his opponent. Senator Marsha Blackburn, endorsed by the NFIB FED PAC, easily defeated challenger Gloria Johnson.

All eight congressional candidates endorsed by the FED PAC were successful in their campaigns across Tennessee. Notably, Diana Harshbarger from Congressional District 1 won with a significant margin of 78%-19%, while John Rose from CD 6 achieved victory with 68% of votes.

Republicans are expected to control both the White House and Senate and potentially gain control over the House starting next January.
