NFIB California sees positive election outcomes with key propositions and candidate endorsements

As of November 8, 2024, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) California is reporting a successful election night based on current results. According to the Secretary of State, "Ballots continue to be counted after Election Day during the canvass period," with final official results for presidential electors due by December 3 and all other state contests by December 6. Certification will occur on December 13.

The NFIB California's political action committee and leadership council have seen favorable outcomes in four ballot initiatives:

- Proposition 5, which aimed to lower the voter threshold for passing bonds and was opposed by NFIB, is losing with a vote of 44% to 56%.

- Proposition 32, intended to raise the state's minimum wage rate and also opposed by NFIB, is trailing at 48% to 52%.

- Proposition 33 sought greater rent-control powers for local governments; NFIB recommended a 'No' vote, and it is currently losing at 39% to 61%.

- Proposition 36, which strengthens retail theft laws and was supported by NFIB with a 'Yes' vote recommendation, is winning decisively at 70% to 30%.

In terms of legislative races, all four candidates endorsed by the NFIB CA PAC in the State Senate are leading:

- Megan Dahle in Senate District 1

- Rosilicie Ochoa-Bogh in Senate District 19

- Suzette Valladares in Senate District 23

- Steven Choi in Senate District 37

For the State Assembly races, fifteen out of twenty endorsed candidates are ahead:

- Josh Hoover (District 7)

- Heath Flora (District 9)

- Catherine Stefani (District 19)

Endorsements for Congress were made by the NFIB FED PAC. Results will be updated as more ballots are counted.
