Assistant Secretary for Arms Control, Deterrence, and Stability Mallory Stewart is set to visit London, United Kingdom, and Helsinki, Finland from November 18 to 22. The purpose of her trip is to engage in significant discussions concerning arms control, nuclear deterrence, emerging threats, and regional stability.
In London, Stewart will participate in a Track 1.5 dialogue organized by the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). This event will include representatives from NATO, the U.S. government, and non-governmental experts. The dialogue aims to address NATO’s strategies for advancing arms control within the current security landscape and will emphasize strengthening multilateral arms control regimes.
During her time in Helsinki, Stewart plans to conduct bilateral meetings with senior officials. Additionally, she will take part in a roundtable discussion hosted by the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA). This discussion will center on international norms with particular attention to space security and responsible military use of artificial intelligence.
