The Heritage Foundation has expressed its support for Russell Vought following his appointment as the director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in President-elect Donald Trump's forthcoming administration. Vought, who previously served as vice president of Heritage Action for America, was confirmed as OMB director in 2020 after serving as acting director since January 2019. Before that, he held the position of deputy director.

Dr. Kevin Roberts, President of The Heritage Foundation, commented on Vought's appointment: "Washington needs to stop treating hardworking Americans like an endless piggy bank. That’s why Russ is the perfect pick to take the reins at OMB in President Trump’s second term. He knows how to slash wasteful spending, shrink the bloated administrative state, and get the federal government back to working for the people—not the other way around."

Roberts further emphasized Vought's potential impact: "Russ will be a driving force for the transformative change our federal government so desperately needs. He’ll execute President Trump’s vision to cut red tape, champion American workers and businesses, and advance the America First agenda with precision and resolve. His leadership will be a breath of fresh air in The Swamp -- we’re ready to see him take charge again."
