Bringweb3 CEO: 'we’re entering a new era' with potential 'crypto-friendly Treasury'

Meir Zohar, founder and CEO of Bringweb3, said that advances in the Web3 industry, along with Scott Bessent's nomination as President-elect Donald Trump's Treasury Secretary, could position the U.S. as a leader in financial technology innovation. Zohar shared his views in a November 25 post on X.

"The intersection of pro-crypto policies and Web3 innovation is reshaping the digital economy," said Zohar. "With Scott Bessent leading a crypto-friendly Treasury and a shift toward value-driven, community-centric marketing, we're entering a new era. Success in Web3 won't come from ads or hype—it'll come from co-creation, transparency, and building ecosystems where everyone thrives. The opportunities are massive, and we're ready to lead the way!"

President-elect Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Bessent, "a lifelong Champion of Main Street America and American Industry," is his nominee for Treasury Secretary. According to Trump, Bessent is an investor, philanthropist, and educator who founded and serves as CEO of Key Square Group.

In an interview over the summer reported by Grabien, Bessent expressed excitement about Trump's embrace of cryptocurrency. "Crypto is about freedom and the crypto economy is here to stay," he said. He noted that some members of Congress were targeting "the whole industry because of the bad behavior on their part of one actor," referring to Sam Bankman-Fried, founder and former CEO of the failed crypto exchange FTX. Bessent highlighted that crypto appeals to many young people who have not participated in traditional financial markets.

According to a survey conducted by Policygenius and reported by CoinTelegraph, Americans aged 18 to 42 are "much more likely to invest in alternative assets like cryptocurrencies and nonfungible tokens (NFTs) compared to their older counterparts." The survey found that 20% of Americans aged 18 to 26 and 22% aged 27 to 42 have invested in alternative assets, compared to only 10% of Gen X respondents and 5% of Baby Boomer respondents.

Zohar founded Bringweb3, a crypto cashback solution for Web3 wallets, in 2022. He previously founded Freshub, a provider of Smart Kitchen technology.
