Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that the Virginia Small Business Finance Authority, in collaboration with the Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission, will provide disaster loans to farmers and small agricultural and forestry businesses in Southwest Virginia counties affected by Hurricane Helene.
The Agricultural Disaster Microloan Program aims to assist Virginia small businesses impacted by the hurricane. It offers loans of up to $50,000 to help farmers and owners of agricultural and forestry businesses recover from the storm. The funds can be used for covering lost revenue, repairing damage, and replacing damaged equipment.
A total of $6 million is allocated for this loan fund, which will be available to any small business in the agriculture and forestry industries within specific cities and counties. These include Appomattox, Albemarle, Bedford, Bland, Botetourt, City of Bristol, Buchanan, Buckingham, Carroll, Charlotte, City of Covington, Craig, City of Danville, Dickenson, Floyd, City of Galax, Lee, Giles, Grayson, Greene, Madison, Montgomery, Nelson, City of Norton, Patrick, Pittsylvania, Pulaski, City of Radford, City of Roanoke, Russell, Scott Smyth Tazewell Washington Wise Wythe counties.
