This partnership was founded on shared values such as democracy, rule of law, civil society, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, and efforts against corruption. Consequently, the United States has suspended this mechanism.

The U.S. continues to urge the Georgian government to realign with its Euro-Atlantic aspirations, conduct transparent investigations into parliamentary election irregularities, and repeal laws deemed anti-democratic that restrict freedoms of assembly and expression.
