The Department of Defense has announced a new package of security assistance for Ukraine, part of the Biden Administration's ongoing efforts to support the country. This marks the seventy-first instance of equipment being provided from DoD inventories since August 2021. The latest Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) package is valued at approximately $725 million.

This tranche aims to address Ukraine's critical security and defense needs with additional capabilities, including air defense systems, munitions for rocket systems and artillery, and anti-tank weapons. Specific items in this announcement include munitions for National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS), Stinger missiles, counter-unmanned aerial systems munitions, ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition, unmanned aerial systems, non-persistent land mines, Tube-launched Optically tracked Wire-guided (TOW) missiles, Javelin and AT-4 anti-armor systems, small arms and ammunition, demolitions equipment and munitions. It also includes equipment to protect critical national infrastructure along with spare parts, ancillary equipment, services, training, and transportation.

The United States remains committed to collaborating with around 50 allies and partners through the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. This cooperation is aimed at meeting Ukraine's urgent battlefield requirements as it continues to defend against Russian aggression.
