PwC and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing industry innovation through cloud and generative AI services. This partnership will merge PwC's industry insights with AWS' GenAI offerings, including Amazon Bedrock, which provides a variety of foundation models to facilitate the development of GenAI applications. The initiative targets industries such as pharmaceuticals, financial services, and energy to transform business operations.

The PwC US 2024 Cloud and AI Business Survey indicates that companies leveraging GenAI for productivity gains and new revenue streams are more successful when using industry-specific solutions. PwC and AWS plan to develop a series of applications based on established use cases, utilizing models like Amazon Nova. Amazon Bedrock also features Automated Reasoning checks, designed to prevent factual errors by ensuring logical accuracy.

Matt Wood, Global CTIO at PwC, stated, “In a field where breakthroughs are happening at incredible speed, reasoning is one of the most important technical advances to help our joint customers succeed in GenAI.” He emphasized that the collaboration would provide customers with tools to mitigate errors while complementing PwC’s industry expertise.

Kathrin Renz, vice president of Industries at AWS, highlighted the importance of model selection and security controls in deploying generative AI in enterprises. She noted that this collaboration combines PwC's expertise with Amazon Bedrock's security capabilities to enable confident deployment of AI applications across various sectors.

This partnership builds on previous successes between PwC and AWS, such as an AI-driven annotation solution used across multiple industries. Joe Davis, CIO at Continental Resources, expressed confidence in PwC's ability to tailor GenAI solutions for their business needs. Raj Nair, CIO of WellSense, also noted that the collaboration aligns with their strategy for rapid innovation.
