Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced that BOTNOI, a Thai startup specializing in generative artificial intelligence, has developed its BOTNOI Voice platform on AWS. This platform is designed to enhance customer service for Southeast Asian languages and cultural norms by using consented language data.
BOTNOI Voice supports over 200 voices in more than 20 languages, focusing on Thai, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Lao, Burmese, and Cambodian. The platform is already in use by over 70 enterprises in Thailand, including Central Pattana (CPN) and Bangkok Hospital. More than 10 million users have interacted with BOTNOI's AI assistants.
Various sectors are utilizing BOTNOI Voice for different applications. Healthcare institutions like Ramathibodi Hospital and the Department of Mental Health employ AI nurses for patient pre-screening and registration. Hotels such as HOP INN use AI concierges for bookings, while financial services like Ngern Tid Lor and the Government Savings Bank utilize AI sales assistants to engage new customers. These interactions aim to replicate human expertise with up to 95% accuracy.
Dr. Winn Voravuthikunchai, founder of BOTNOI, stated: "Cloud technology empowers organizations to run better and has enabled us to assist over 3,000 teachers nationwide in creating classroom modules that make education more accessible and effective." He added that leveraging AWS allowed them to build BOTNOI Voice for human-like interactions across multiple languages.
Dr. Voravuthikunchai also noted: "Amazon Bedrock allows us to seamlessly switch between foundation models for different use cases," which is crucial for meeting client needs. He expressed enthusiasm about participating in the AWS Activate startup program, which has supported their growth on AWS.
BOTNOI's LLM uses AWS EC2 G4DN instances for machine learning inference and graphics-intensive applications. The company plans to test custom silicon Trainium2 in 2025 for faster training speeds.
Amazon Bedrock powers BOTNOI’s generative AI assistant by providing access to high-performing foundation models from various leading AI companies through a single API. To ensure content safety, BOTNOI Voice employs Amazon Bedrock Guardrails based on responsible AI policies.
Additionally, Amazon SageMaker JumpStart aids BOTNOI in training its model using local speech and cultural data from consenting users. Integration with Amazon Connect helps automate customer service across communication channels.
BOTNOI Voice is available on AWS Marketplace, allowing millions of AWS customers access to the platform. The startup collaborates with DoiT, an AWS Advanced Technology Partner, achieving significant savings on serverless computing and machine learning costs by optimizing their cloud environment.
