The U.S. Department of Defense Test Resource Management Center (TRMC), along with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, conducted a flight test in November for the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonics Test Bed (MACH-TB). This test was commercially launched.

MACH-TB is designed to speed up the delivery of advanced capabilities by providing a hypersonic flight test capability for the Department of Defense and other federal agencies.

George Rumford, Director of TRMC, commented on the benefits of this approach: "Leveraging commercial launch services allows our Nation to affordably test components early and frequently, accelerating hypersonic development."

The U.S. Department of Defense Test Resource Management Center is a field activity within the DoD that reports directly to the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. Its mission focuses on ensuring readiness in testing and evaluation capabilities, infrastructure, and workforce to support modernization efforts within the DoD.
