The United States and the Kingdom of Bahrain have jointly decided to invite the United Kingdom to join the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA). This decision is aimed at enhancing regional security integration, strengthening mutual deterrence against external threats, and expanding cooperation in commerce, science, and technology with states that share similar goals for peace and prosperity in the Middle East.

The announcement aligns with C-SIPA's vision of fostering cooperation among countries with shared interests in deterrence, diplomacy, security, economic collaboration, and conflict de-escalation within the Middle East. The agreement was signed on September 13, 2023, in Washington by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken.

C-SIPA establishes a framework for collaboration across various sectors including defense, security, science, technology, and trade. It aims to create a more secure and prosperous Middle East by deterring regional conflicts, enhancing stability, reducing tensions, and promoting economic growth through increased trade.
