U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo has appointed 42 leaders from industry, business, and civil society to the Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee (ETTAC). These individuals will serve a two-year term, advising on U.S. government programs and activities aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the U.S. environmental technologies sector.

Secretary Raimondo highlighted the significance of this sector, stating, “The U.S. environmental technologies sector represents $432 billion in revenue and employs 1.8 million American workers – making it a vital industry for driving innovation and positioning the United States as a global leader in environmental technologies.” She expressed anticipation for the committee's recommendations on supporting American environmental technology competitiveness.

Established in 1994, ETTAC advises the Secretary of Commerce on developing programs to promote U.S. exports of environmental technologies. The committee’s recommendations focus on trade policies related to these exports, including support for innovative technologies, supply chain resilience, private sector engagement with export promotion programs, and ensuring fair trade practices.

Members represent various sectors within the industry such as water treatment, air pollution control, and waste management.
