A Springfield man, Andrew Rogers, 40, has been sentenced to six years in federal prison and three years of supervised release for illegal possession and manufacturing of firearms and silencers. The sentencing took place on Tuesday.

Court documents reveal that the Lane County Sheriff's Office received tips from citizens in 2022 about Rogers' frequent purchase of firearm parts. In June 2022 alone, he spent thousands on over 120 firearm components.

On June 30, 2022, a search of Rogers' home uncovered 62 complete semi-automatic firearms, 45 silencers, incomplete firearms, ammunition, and various firearm parts. Additionally, drugs such as psilocybin and methamphetamine were found alongside tools for firearm manufacturing.

The same day, officers stopped Rogers while he was riding a motorcycle. A search revealed methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, a knife, and an unregistered pistol in his backpack. He was arrested subsequently.

Further investigation led to the discovery of more weapons in Rogers' storage unit in Springfield. A lack of licensing records confirmed that he was not authorized to manufacture or sell firearms legally.

Rogers pleaded guilty on August 13, 2024. The case was handled by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the Lane County Sheriff’s Office. It was prosecuted by Adam E. Delph from the U.S. Attorney's Office for Oregon.
