Chidi Anthony Okafor, a 26-year-old resident of Charleston, West Virginia, has been sentenced to over ten years in prison for a federal drug crime. The sentence was handed down on December 12, 2024, and includes ten years and one month of imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release. Okafor was convicted for distributing more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.

Court documents reveal that on October 31, 2022, Okafor sold approximately 338.3 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant in Charleston. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Alexander A. Redmon and Ryan A. Keefe.

United States Attorney Will Thompson announced the sentencing and praised the efforts of the Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team (MDENT) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security-Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). MDENT includes several local law enforcement agencies such as the Charleston Police Department and the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
