The Department of Defense (DoD) has announced the release of Version 4.3 of the Online Cyber Resilient Weapon Systems Body of Knowledge (CRWS-BoK). This free resource aims to assist both public and private sector workforces in designing, engineering, and protecting secure cyber resilient systems.

First launched in May 2021 by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense's System Security (SysSec) team, CRWS-BoK has been regularly updated to enhance its functionality, engagement, and collaboration capabilities. The latest version includes several notable upgrades:

- Enhanced resource viewing allows users to view resources they have rated, encouraging greater engagement and feedback.

- Simplified email management lets users unsubscribe directly from emails via the footer.

- Expanded nomination capabilities enable users to nominate Engineering Design Patterns for inclusion alongside documents and videos.

- Section 508 Compliance Updates ensure full compliance with the Revised Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, improving accessibility for individuals with disabilities.

- Visual and interface enhancements have been made with new graphics and security features to improve user experience.

The SysSec team remains committed to refining CRWS-BoK as a key resource for system security engineering (SSE) and science and technology (S&T) professionals. By working with these professionals, the Research and Engineering (R&E) community aims to support resilient missions, systems, and components.

Through CRWS-BoK, the DoD seeks to promote innovation and best practices in secure cyber resilient engineering (SCRE), equipping SSE and S&T workforces to develop systems capable of operating amidst persistent cyber threats. More information is available at https://www.crws-bok.org/.

The Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (USD(R&E)) serves as the Chief Technology Officer for the Department of Defense.
