Aerospace Industries Association strengthens legislative team with new senior directors

Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) has announced the addition of two experienced Capitol Hill staffers to its legislative team. Parker Chapman and David Winfrey will join as Senior Directors of Legislative Affairs, enhancing AIA's efforts in advocacy.

Eric Fanning, AIA President and CEO, emphasized the importance of these appointments: "Maintaining strong relationships on Capitol Hill is essential for advancing our mission and achieving our policy goals. As we aim to expand our footprint on Capitol Hill, bringing on seasoned professionals like David and Parker is crucial. Their far-reaching experience, policy chops, and proven ability to get legislation across the finish line will be instrumental in ensuring our continued success and effectiveness in our advocacy efforts."

Parker Chapman began his role at AIA this week after serving as Staff Director for the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Accountability. He also worked with the U.S. House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. Chapman holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Amherst College.

David Winfrey is set to join AIA in January 2025. His previous roles include Deputy Chief of Staff for Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX), Chair Emeritus of the House Appropriations Committee, where he led Granger’s legislative team as Legislative Director. Winfrey earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University.

Additionally, Dean Johnson has joined AIA as Manager of Legislative Affairs, following his tenure with Rep. Dina Titus (D-NV).
