Tucson man receives decade-long sentence for fatal fentanyl distribution

Thomas Franklin Wilson, known as "Tee Woopin," has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by United States District Judge Rosemary Márquez. The Tucson resident will also serve five years of supervised release following his prison term. Wilson, aged 29, pleaded guilty on March 13, 2024, to the distribution of fentanyl that led to the overdose death of a 17-year-old in April 2021.

The incident involved Wilson selling 13 pills to the teenager and her friend. The teenager subsequently died from fentanyl toxicity.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Tohono O’odham Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Stefani Hepford from the District of Arizona in Tucson managed the prosecution.
