Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell is set to visit Houston, Texas, on December 17. The trip aims to enhance space cooperation between the United States and India, focusing on human spaceflight. During his visit, Campbell will be accompanied by Principal Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer and Indian Ambassador to the United States Vinay Mohan Kwatra.

The delegation plans to meet with astronauts from the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) who are currently training at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. This training is part of a collaborative mission to the International Space Station scheduled for next year in partnership with NASA.

In addition to meeting ISRO astronauts, the officials will engage with senior representatives from the space industry. These discussions aim to explore further collaboration opportunities across the space innovation value chain between the two nations.

Campbell and Finer will also participate in a discussion at Rice University titled “U.S. Foreign Policy in a Moment of Transition.” This event will address opportunities for the incoming administration to strengthen U.S.-India relations.
