U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry have seized narcotics valued at over $372,000 in a recent enforcement action. The operation took place on December 16th at International Bridge 1 when a CBP officer directed a 2021 Jeep Renegade for further inspection. The vehicle was driven by a 26-year-old female Mexican citizen, accompanied by a 24-year-old female Mexican citizen.

Port Director Pete Beattie praised the officers' efforts, stating, “I commend the continuous dedication that our officers exhibit as they hold the line against the trafficking of illicit narcotics as part of our border security mission.”

During the secondary examination, which involved a CBP canine and non-intrusive inspection system, officers discovered 12 packages containing approximately 27.91 pounds of suspected cocaine hidden within the vehicle's fenders and rocker panels. The estimated street value of these narcotics is $372,659.

Following this discovery, CBP seized both the narcotics and the vehicle. Homeland Security Investigations special agents arrested both occupants of the vehicle and initiated a criminal investigation into the matter.
