A Davenport resident has been sentenced to 200 months in federal prison for his involvement in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy.
Court documents reveal that Eric Eugene Muhammad, aged 38, engaged in distributing methamphetamine between June 2022 and February 2023 in Davenport and Moline. During this period, he provided over 100 grams of the substance to a confidential informant. His criminal record includes three prior drug convictions in Illinois Circuit Court for Knox County. At the time of his arrest, Muhammad was on probation for an aggravated battery charge.
Following his prison sentence, Muhammad will undergo a five-year supervised release period as federal parole is not available.
United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal from the Southern District of Iowa announced the sentencing. The investigation was conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Springfield Division of the Quad Cities SAFE Streets Task Force, Moline Police Department, and Davenport Police Department.
