An Albuquerque man has pleaded guilty to federal charges related to the production of child sexual abuse materials. Kevin Vallo, 40, admitted to creating illicit content and using social media platforms to lure minors for sexual exploitation.
Court documents reveal that Vallo used Telegram, a messaging app, to communicate with a 13-year-old victim. He created multiple profiles under different names and personas, falsely claiming to be 16 years old when he was actually 39.
Vallo engaged in sexually explicit conversations with the victim and invited her to his residence multiple times. On February 19, 2024, he persuaded the victim and two other minors to visit his home in Albuquerque for sexual activity.
He recorded four videos of himself engaging in sexual acts with the victim on his phone and sent these videos back to her. These recordings are classified as child pornography under federal law.
Vallo is currently in custody awaiting sentencing, which has not yet been scheduled. He faces a prison term ranging from 15 to 25 years. Following his release, he will undergo supervised release for at least five years up to life and must register as a sex offender.
The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Alexander M.M. Uballez and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office.
The case was investigated by the FBI Albuquerque Field Office with help from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Jesse Pecoraro is prosecuting this case under Project Safe Childhood—a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse online.
