The Deputy Secretary acknowledged recent changes within South Korea's command structure, affirming a continued commitment to supporting the nation during challenging times. He noted that maintaining a strong partnership was crucial.
Vice Foreign Minister Kim thanked Campbell for his warm welcome and highlighted appreciation for U.S. support amid Korea's political climate. "Let me assure you, Deputy Secretary, and the United States that governance under Acting President Han Duck-soo is operating stably," he said, ensuring that democratic processes would be followed according to constitutional law.
Kim also looked forward to discussions on enhancing ROK-U.S. relations and trilateral cooperation with Japan during both current and future U.S. administrations.
In response to media inquiries about upcoming meetings between U.S.-ROK groups, Campbell confirmed it as a discussion topic, asserting that key mechanisms within their relationship should remain intact.
