The National Association of Realtors (NAR) has expressed approval following the recent passage of a continuing resolution by the United States Congress. The resolution, which funds the government until March 14, 2025, was welcomed by NAR President Kevin Sears.

"NAR applauds lawmakers for passing a stopgap funding measure and keeping our government open and running. We thank Congress for continuing to extend the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) as part of the CR," stated Sears. He added that NAR is looking forward to collaborating with the new Congress to prioritize long-term reauthorization and reform.

Additionally, Sears highlighted his satisfaction with Congress's allocation of $12 billion towards HUD’s Community Development Block Grant Programs aimed at disaster relief. "This addition sheds light on the importance of not only the need for new inventory but also the reconstruction of existing infrastructure in devastated areas," he noted.

The recently passed resolution includes provisions for NFIP funding along with allocations for disaster relief and farm aid programs. According to NAR, since 2017, NFIP has received 31 short-term extensions.

NAR represents America's largest trade association involved in various aspects of residential and commercial real estate. They emphasize adherence to a strict Code of Ethics among their members, identified as Realtors.
