A Shreveport man, Dwayne Ronquillo, has pleaded guilty to trafficking firearms, as announced by United States Attorney Brandon B. Brown. Ronquillo, aged 52, appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Mark L. Hornsby to enter his plea.

Court records indicate that Ronquillo held a Federal Firearms License and operated a booth at a flea market in Greenwood, Louisiana, in April 2024. During this time, he sold firearms despite being aware of the buyer's felony record. On April 20, 2024, he sold a Ruger Security-9 pistol and ammunition for $500 in cash to an individual who disclosed his felony status. The transactions continued with the sale of a DPMS A-15 pistol on April 25 for $1,000 in cash.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) executed a federal search warrant at Ronquillo’s residence on May 29, 2024. Agents seized 75 firearms along with various ammunition and magazines. At the hearing, Ronquillo admitted knowing that selling firearms to a convicted felon was illegal.

"This defendant shamelessly and recklessly put firearms and ammunition in the hands of people he knew to be prohibited," stated U.S. Attorney Brown regarding Ronquillo's actions.

Ronquillo could face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 when sentenced on April 10, 2025. The ATF conducted the investigation with Assistant United States Attorney Seth D. Reeg prosecuting the case.
