A Hampton man has been sentenced to 26 years and 10 months in prison for drug conspiracy and firearm possession related to drug trafficking. Lemoyne Williams, aged 44, was found guilty of conspiring with others to manufacture, distribute, and possess heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine from June 2018 until his arrest on October 14, 2022.

Authorities conducted a controlled narcotics purchase from Williams before executing a search warrant at his apartment on October 30, 2019. Officers forced entry after several minutes of knocking and discovered Williams with his partner and two children. They recovered nearly 50 grams of heroin and fentanyl, along with other drugs, cash, cellphones, and a stolen handgun.

A federal grand jury indicted Williams on August 10, 2022. When officers attempted to execute the arrest warrant connected to this indictment, they had to breach the door as Williams did not comply. Inside the residence were narcotics and processing materials in plain view. The subsequent search revealed methamphetamine, crack cocaine, fentanyl powder, cocaine powder alongside loaded firearms.

Williams's criminal history includes convictions for manslaughter in 1999 and possessing crack cocaine with intent to distribute while wearing body armor in a stolen vehicle during a pending trial in 2000. At the time of his recent offenses, he was under court supervision for a previous drug-trafficking conviction.

Jessica D. Aber from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia announced the sentencing alongside Jarod Forget from the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Washington Division; Steve R. Drew from Newport News Police; and Jimmie Wideman from Hampton Police after sentencing by Judge Arenda Wright Allen.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Julie Podlesni.
