Two men from Virginia have been sentenced to federal prison for attempting to sell methamphetamine and machineguns. Damien Jahon Reynolds, 36, from Woodford, and Trey Wright, 26, from Fredericksburg, were involved in the sale of methamphetamine disguised as "ecstasy" pills, along with 12 machinegun conversion devices (MCDs) and two privately made firearms equipped with additional MCDs. These transactions were conducted with an undercover Special Agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

The court documents reveal that Reynolds supplied these items to Wright and also had more methamphetamine and MCDs at his residence. The MCDs in question are capable of converting semiautomatic firearms into fully automatic ones and are classified as machineguns under the law.

On April 24, Trey Wright pleaded guilty to charges of distributing methamphetamine and possessing machineguns. He received a sentence of two years and six months in prison. The following day, Damien Jahon Reynolds pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession of machineguns. He was sentenced on November 21 to twelve years and seven months in prison.

The announcement was made by Jessica D. Aber, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia; Anthony A. Spotswood, Special Agent in Charge of the ATF Washington Field Division; and Jason S. Miyares, Attorney General of Virginia after sentencing by Senior U.S. District Judge Robert E. Payne.

The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Ellen Hubbard from the Virginia Attorney General’s Office and Assistant U.S. Attorney Peter S. Duffey.
