A former officer at Coffeewood Correctional Center in Mitchells, Virginia, has been sentenced to 40 years in federal prison. Davey Jonathan Sisk, aged 30 and a resident of Culpeper, Virginia, faced charges related to child sexual exploitation and child pornography.
Sisk pleaded guilty in June to two counts of sexually exploiting and attempting to exploit a child, along with one count of receiving child pornography. Court documents revealed that Sisk used the social media app "Telegram" to communicate with Anna Layher. Layher was tasked with creating videos and photos involving minors in sexually explicit acts and sending them to Sisk. The victims were as young as three years old. Layher was prosecuted separately in the Eastern District of Virginia and received a similar 40-year sentence in September 2024.
Further investigations uncovered that between 2021 and 2022, a 12-year-old minor from Texas engaged in sexual activities with another minor. Videos and images of these encounters were sold online through platforms like Snapchat. Sisk admitted using the Snapchat username "JAKESMOOT2021" and paid over $450 via Cash App for explicit content from the minor.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Christopher R. Kavanaugh. Homeland Security Investigations teams from Harrisonburg, VA, and Washington, D.C., conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sally J. Sullivan handled the prosecution.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide. The project aims to improve efforts in locating, apprehending, and prosecuting offenders while rescuing victims.
