A Memphis man, Andre Blue, has been found guilty by a federal jury of methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute and multiple firearm-related offenses. The verdict was announced by Reagan Fondren, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee.

Court records reveal that on July 13, 2022, detectives from the Multi-Agency Gang Unit executed a search warrant at Blue's residence in Memphis. They uncovered several firearms and 15 grams of pure methamphetamine during the search. Additional firearms and drug paraphernalia were discovered in another residence occupied by Blue on February 23, 2023.

Due to prior felony convictions, Blue is legally prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition. On November 20, 2024, after a three-day trial, he was convicted of possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Blue faces mandatory minimum sentences for his crimes: five years for methamphetamine possession and an additional consecutive five years for possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. Sentencing is scheduled for February 26, 2025, before United States District Judge Jon P. McCalla.

This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which aims to reduce violent crime through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities. The investigation involved the PSN Gun Task Force, the Multi-Agency Gang Unit, and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Acting United States Attorney Fondren expressed gratitude towards Assistant United States Attorneys Eileen Kuo and Regina Brittenum for their prosecution efforts and acknowledged the contributions of law enforcement partners in this case.
