United States Attorney Will Thompson is set to honor over 80 law enforcement professionals at the 2024 Law Enforcement Awards Ceremony. The event will take place on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Robert C. Byrd U.S. Courthouse in Charleston.
The annual ceremony acknowledges the outstanding service of federal, state, and local law enforcement officers who have significantly contributed to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia in various cases and initiatives.
Thompson will distribute awards recognizing exceptional law enforcement efforts in major cases related to drug crimes, violent crimes, white-collar crimes, and the sexual exploitation of minors. Additionally, awards will be given for Law Enforcement Officers of the Year, Drug and Violent Crime Task Force of the Year, and Outstanding Community Partner.
Cameras and other recording devices are allowed on the fifth floor of the courthouse exclusively for this ceremony.
