Sherette Joseph Lujan, a 48-year-old resident of Riverton, Wyoming, received a sentence of 12 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for causing damage to United States property. He was also ordered to pay $2,304 in restitution. The incident occurred on June 15 when the Riverton Police Department responded to reports of a man breaking windows at the Riverton Post Office with a metal object. Lujan claimed he was trying to scare off "gangsters" he believed were following him and admitted to using methamphetamine earlier that night. He was indicted on July 10, pleaded guilty on September 3, and sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on November 22 in Cheyenne. The case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Service and Riverton Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Mackenzie Morrison.
In another case, Robert Lynn Harris from Casper, Wyoming, aged 56, was sentenced to ten years in prison with an additional ten years of supervised release for possession and access with intent to view child pornography as a subsequent offense. He must also pay $2,000 in restitution. On May 13, Wyoming Internet Crimes Against Children agents were alerted by U.S. Probation Agents after finding child pornography on a micro-SD card during a search related to Harris's lifetime term of supervised release as a convicted sex offender. Harris was indicted on July 18, pleaded guilty on September 11, and sentenced by Judge Alan B. Johnson on November 27.
Kathleen Lindsay from Fort Washakie received an eight-year prison sentence with three years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine after being found with significant quantities of both drugs during a traffic stop executed under a search warrant on March 10.
Kenneth Waters from Cheyenne was sentenced to over seven years in prison with four years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl following several controlled purchases conducted between May and June.
Kevin Washakie from Fort Washakie received time served since May for distributing methamphetamine after law enforcement conducted a controlled purchase last year.
Brian Scott Birden from Sheridan was sentenced to nearly three years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm after firing multiple rounds inside someone's house while they were away at work.
All cases involved investigations by various law enforcement agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives among others.
