Lucas Ehly, a 31-year-old resident of Omaha, Nebraska, has been sentenced to 57 months in federal prison for his involvement in distributing fentanyl. The sentencing took place on December 20, 2024, under the jurisdiction of Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. Following his prison term, Ehly will undergo three years of supervised release.
The charges against Ehly include conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and distribution of fentanyl. In June and July of 2023, he sold fentanyl pills on two occasions to a confidential informant. These transactions were facilitated by co-defendant Rafael Magana. On July 24, 2023, law enforcement executed search warrants at the residences of both Ehly and Magana. During these searches, seven fentanyl pills were discovered in Ehly's bedroom. At Magana's residence, agents seized over 1,000 fentanyl pills along with $6,680 in cash. Additionally, a search of Magana's storage unit revealed another stash containing approximately 13,800 fentanyl pills.
Ehly admitted to participating in the drug transactions orchestrated by Magana after being advised of his rights post-arrest. He disclosed that he received compensation from Magana in the form of fentanyl pills for selling them to Magana’s customers.
Rafael Magana was sentenced earlier on December 13, 2024, receiving a prison term of 180 months. The $6,680 cash found at his residence has been forfeited as proceeds from illegal drug trafficking activities. Another co-defendant involved in this case is Zacharie Stinson from Omaha who was sentenced to 57 months in September.
The investigation leading to these sentences was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration alongside the Omaha Metro Drug Task Force.
