National Security Advisor Ajit Doval of India met with U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in New Delhi on January 6, 2025. The meeting included a delegation of senior U.S. government officials.
The advisors have maintained regular high-level dialogue, discussing a broad bilateral, regional, and global agenda. This engagement follows the launch of the India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) by Prime Minister Modi and President Joseph Biden during the Quad Summit in Tokyo on May 24, 2022. The initiative has led to collaborative efforts between the two nations in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Semiconductors, Telecommunications, Defense, and Space.
The visit allowed both parties to review ongoing progress in their dialogue across diverse fields including Defense, Cybersecurity, and Maritime Security.
During the meeting, NSA Sullivan informed his Indian counterparts about updates from the Biden administration regarding U.S. missile export control policies under the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR). These changes are expected to enhance U.S. commercial space cooperation with India. Additionally, Sullivan announced efforts by the United States to finalize steps for delisting Indian nuclear entities to promote civil nuclear cooperation and resilient clean energy supply chains.
