U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and Prime Minister Modi in New Delhi to advance the strategic technology partnership between the United States and India. This collaboration, initiated in 2022 by President Biden and Prime Minister Modi, focuses on integrating technology and defense supply chains.

During their meeting, Sullivan and Doval emphasized the importance of developing strategic technologies to deliver secure and cost-effective solutions globally. The partnership has expanded across sectors like space, semiconductors, biotechnology, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and clean energy. It also includes multilateral work with nations from the Indo-Pacific and Europe.

Sullivan and Doval discussed strengthening technology protection tools and addressing national security concerns related to overcapacity in key sectors. They praised progress in overcoming barriers to bilateral trade, technology, and industrial cooperation.

The leaders highlighted achievements such as launching a new era in space technology cooperation. This includes the first joint effort between American and Indian astronauts at the International Space Station with Axiom-4's launch this spring. They also noted advancements in commercial space collaboration following updates to U.S. export policy.

In defense innovation, discussions progressed between Ultra Maritime and Bharat Dynamics Limited for co-producing sonobuoys. India acquired MQ-9B platforms as part of broader co-production initiatives under the U.S.-India Roadmap for Defense Industrial Cooperation.

The two countries are advancing a clean energy partnership through small modular reactor technology deployment in India. The signing of a Critical Minerals Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen supply chains for minerals like graphite and gallium.

Efforts are underway to establish a semiconductor fabrication plant in India through a partnership between the U.S. Space Force and 3rdiTech. This aligns with promoting resilient semiconductor supply chains via ongoing collaboration between relevant U.S. departments and India's Semiconductor Mission.

Collaboration extends into AI, advanced computing, quantum science, talent exchange programs, biotechnology cooperation under "Bio-X," visa process improvements for Indian professionals moving to the U.S., and an Advanced Materials R&D Forum convening experts from both countries.
