Meta has announced the election of Dana White, John Elkann, and Charlie Songhurst to its board of directors. This move aims to bring a diverse range of expertise and perspectives to the company as it navigates future opportunities in artificial intelligence, wearables, and human connection.
Mark Zuckerberg, Meta's Founder and CEO, stated, "Dana, John and Charlie will add a depth of expertise and perspective that will help us tackle the massive opportunities ahead with AI, wearables and the future of human connection."
Dana White expressed his enthusiasm for joining Meta's board by saying, "I’ve never been interested in joining a board of directors until I got the offer to join Meta’s board. I am a huge believer that social media and AI are the future." White is currently serving as President and CEO of UFC.
John Elkann shared his thoughts on joining Meta's board: "I am honored to be able to contribute to the future of one of the most significant companies of the 21st century." Elkann is CEO of Exor and holds executive positions at Ferrari and Stellantis.
Charlie Songhurst also commented on his new role: "As part of Meta’s advisory group, I’ve seen firsthand the opportunities to scale new products and grow AI and enterprise capabilities."
White brings extensive experience from leading UFC into becoming a global sports powerhouse. Elkann has led successful business transformations at Fiat Group, which later merged with Chrysler to form FCA. Songhurst has an investment background in technology startups worldwide.
