Today at CES 2025, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) unveiled the 2025 Global Innovation Scorecard. This scorecard assesses various factors that contribute to innovation across countries. During the State of the Industry keynote, several country representatives were recognized as Innovation Champions.
The honored representatives included Erkki Keldo from Estonia, Leena-Kaisa Mikkola representing Finland, Dr. Volker Wissing from Germany, Dirk Beljaarts from The Netherlands, Ebba Busch from Sweden, and Ralf Heckner for Switzerland.
This year's report analyzed 74 countries and the European Union based on 16 categories and 56 metrics. It is noted as the most comprehensive analysis so far by CTA. Countries were graded using public data that is verifiable and comparable across nations.
Innovation Champion status was awarded to nations with diverse workforces, fast broadband access, a favorable environment for entrepreneurs, and openness to new technologies such as Web 3.0 and autonomous vehicles. The countries named as Innovation Champions include Australia, Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand Norway Portugal Singapore South Korea Spain Sweden Switzerland United Kingdom United States.
"Technology drives solutions to global challenges," said Gary Shapiro CEO and Vice Chair of CTA. "Our Innovation Champions exemplify the transformative power of collaboration between government and industry to enhance lives worldwide."
