TechNet has announced the appointment of Liz O’Bagy as its new Federal Policy Director. Based in Washington, D.C., O’Bagy will lead the organization's federal policy advocacy on important issues like artificial intelligence and trade.
Linda Moore, TechNet President and CEO, expressed enthusiasm for O'Bagy's arrival, stating, "It has never been more critical to preserve and protect the United States’ standing as the global leader in innovation. Liz’s wealth of experience in Washington, coupled with her deep national security background, will make her an invaluable addition to our team as we navigate complex issues like AI and trade. We are thrilled to have her on board."
Carl Holshouser, Executive Vice President and Head of Federal Policy and Government Relations at TechNet, highlighted the significance of O'Bagy's role: “The United States must lead globally on artificial intelligence to maintain our economic strength and national security. Liz’s extensive international experience will be invaluable as we navigate the global AI discussion, ensuring that America remains at the forefront of responsible development and deployment. Keeping America at the forefront of responsible AI development and deployment is not only an economic imperative but also a national security necessity. Before joining TechNet, O’Bagy served as Senior Foreign Policy and Defense Advisor to Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) and previously held positions with both Senator John McCain (R-AZ) and the United Nations.
