San Francisco activist: 'Fentanyl is a form of chemical warfare on the American people’

Darren Stallcup, activist and founder of the World Peace Movement, described fentanyl as a form of "chemical warfare" against U.S. citizens in a January 2 post on X.

"Nobody is talking about the fentanyl genocide claiming the lives of thousands of innocent Americans of all races and religions," said Stallcup. "Fentanyl is a form of chemical warfare on the American people . It comes from China across the southern border and into our community. Now it's showing up in schools and in playgrounds."

In 2023, Stallcup, an activist from San Francisco, appeared on Fox News to discuss the fentanyl crisis in his city. He referred to it as a "zombie apocalypse" and a "fentanyl genocide." Following several break-ins, he relocated from his apartment in the Tenderloin neighborhood, which he labeled "uninhabitable" and "traumatizing."

Fox News reported that there were 647 drug overdose fatalities in San Francisco in 2024. A fifth of these overdoses occurred in Stallcup’s former neighborhood. The total number of overdose deaths in San Francisco for 2025 is expected to surpass last year's figures.

In November 2024, Sacramento police officers seized over 66 pounds of fentanyl, equivalent to 330,000 pills, according to CBS News. This amount was sufficient to potentially eliminate one-fourth of California's population.

USA Today reported that while synthetic overdose deaths have been decreasing across the U.S., the crisis persists. From August 2023 through July 2024, overdose deaths decreased by 22% nationwide compared to the same period the previous year. This decline is attributed to Naxolone and a reduction in the purity of fentanyl tablets. However, it is predicted that between 50,000-60,000 Americans will die from overdoses in 2025, primarily due to fentanyl. This figure is six times higher than when the fentanyl issue began in 2015 and brings the total number of U.S. overdose deaths close to 450,000.

Stallcup initiated the "World Peace Movement," which he describes as a call to action for unity among all people, according to a petition he started on Change.org.
