The United States has announced a new military assistance package for Ukraine, valued at $500 million. This move is part of the security aid initiative that President Biden outlined on September 26. The support aims to help Ukraine defend itself amid ongoing hostilities with Russia.

The assistance will come from existing Department of Defense stocks and includes various types of weaponry and equipment. Specifically, it comprises AIM-7, RIM-7, and AIM-9M missiles for air defense purposes, air-to-ground munitions, and support equipment for F-16 aircraft. Additionally, the package features armored bridging systems, secure communications gear, small arms with ammunition, spare parts, ancillary equipment, services, training, and transportation.

A coalition of more than 50 countries joins the United States in supporting Ukraine's defense capabilities against Russian aggression.

"The United States and more than 50 nations stand united to ensure Ukraine has the capabilities it needs to defend itself against Russia’s aggression."
