A Fall River resident faces charges in Boston federal court for allegedly trafficking cocaine via the U.S. mail from California to Massachusetts. Justin Dupras, 42, is charged with attempting to possess cocaine with intent to distribute and will appear in U.S. District Court at a later date.
The complaint claims Dupras mailed approximately two kilograms of cocaine from Los Angeles to Fall River on December 17, 2024. Upon returning to Massachusetts, he reportedly retrieved the package from the Fall River Post Office on December 19, 2024.
The document also alleges previous shipments of cocaine by Dupras from California to Massachusetts. On September 17, 2024, he is accused of mailing over two kilograms of cocaine from Chino Hills to Fall River. Another shipment allegedly occurred on October 29, 2024, involving around two kilograms sent from Los Angeles. Flight records indicate Dupras returned to Massachusetts on the same days these packages were mailed.
If convicted of attempting to possess cocaine with intent to distribute, Dupras could face up to 20 years in prison, supervised release for life, and a fine up to $1 million. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge according to U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutory factors.
United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy and Ketty Larco-Ward, Inspector in Charge of the United States Postal Inspection Service's Boston Division, announced the charge. The investigation received support from the Fall River Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Abely is handling prosecution.
The allegations are part of a charging document; Dupras is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt in court.
