U.S. Attorney Morris Pasqual | U.S. Department of Justice
A federal investigation into drug trafficking on Chicago's Northwest Side has led to narcotics and firearm charges against four individuals. The operation, conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Chicago Police Department (CPD), involved covert surveillance, undercover purchases, and wiretapped communications to dismantle an open-air drug market in Humboldt Park.
During a court-authorized search of a residence in Chicago, authorities discovered large quantities of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine ready for distribution. Charged with federal drug offenses are Jauan Brown, 38; Briuanna Moore, 26; and Eyanna Ross, 21. Brown and William Davis, 38, face additional charges related to illegal firearm possession. All four defendants appeared in federal court in Chicago.
In addition to these federal charges, 20 other individuals have been charged at the state level as part of this investigation.
The announcement of the federal charges was made by Morris Pasqual, Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois; Sean Fitzgerald, Special Agent-in-Charge of HSI in Chicago; and Larry Snelling, Superintendent of CPD. The IRS Criminal Investigation Chicago Field Office and the Chicago High Intensity Drug Trafficking Task Force also contributed valuable assistance. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Brian F. Williamson and Kate McClelland are representing the government in these cases.
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force operation aimed at identifying and dismantling drug trafficking organizations that pose threats to the United States through a coordinated approach involving multiple agencies.
It is important to note that a complaint contains only allegations and does not constitute evidence of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
