In recent months, the United States has supplied Ukrainian forces with substantial military aid, including artillery rounds, rockets, armored vehicles, and other essential resources as they defend their country from Russian attacks. Additionally, the U.S. announced a comprehensive sanctions package targeting the Russian energy sector, expanding upon previous economic sanctions imposed since 2022.
President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for this increased support and shared insights into his strategic plans regarding the conflict.
The impact of President Putin's war against Ukraine has been detrimental to Russia. Due to the determination of the Ukrainian people and assistance from the United States, Russia has not achieved its strategic goals in Ukraine. When the war began nearly three years ago, capturing Kyiv was a primary objective for Russia. However, Kyiv remains free today. The goal of dismantling Ukraine as a nation has also failed; it continues as a vibrant democracy. Despite attempts to weaken Ukraine's military forces, they have grown stronger and more capable. Furthermore, rather than fracturing NATO, the alliance is now larger and more united than ever before.
President Biden emphasized the necessity of continued support for Ukraine in its quest for freedom to ensure that Ukrainians can attain a just and lasting peace.
