The White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI) has released its final report titled "Rising Together" to President Joe Biden. This document reviews the Biden-Harris Administration's investments in these communities.
The report includes a summary of WHIAANHPI’s activities aimed at increasing visibility for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) communities. It also outlines efforts to support communities in crisis, enhance federal employment opportunities, and promote capacity building.
Updates from 29 federal agencies are included, detailing their implementation of action plans following the National Strategy to Advance Equity, Justice, and Opportunity for AA and NHPI Communities. The report features 86 recommendations from the President’s Advisory Commission on AA and NHPIs designed to address systemic barriers within federal policies and programs. Many of these recommendations have already been implemented by the current administration.
Additionally, the report highlights progress in seven strategic priority areas: combating anti-Asian hate, promoting belonging, advancing data disaggregation, improving language access, addressing COVID-19 recovery efforts, expanding outreach and engagement initiatives, and diversifying the federal workforce.
