IBM has announced plans to acquire Applications Software Technology LLC, a global Oracle consultancy known for its expertise in business transformations with Oracle Cloud Applications. This acquisition aims to enhance IBM's Oracle solutions and assist clients across North America, the UK, and Ireland in navigating digital transformations.

Kelly Chambliss, Senior Vice President of IBM Consulting, Americas, stated that "public sector clients' cloud transformations often require a consulting partner with industry, domain and technology expertise." She added that the acquisition would boost IBM's public sector and Oracle Cloud Application skills.

Applications Software Technology specializes in the Oracle Cloud Applications Suite and has been an Oracle partner since 1996. The company also works with Salesforce and MuleSoft on public sector solutions. Justin Winter, CEO of Applications Software Technology, expressed excitement about joining IBM to expand transformative solutions for customers.

The acquisition supports IBM's open ecosystem approach by integrating various technologies to address client challenges. Headquartered in Lisle, Illinois, Applications Software Technology operates teams across several countries and is currently part of Recognize Partners LP's portfolio. Upon completion of the acquisition in early 2025, it will join IBM Consulting.

IBM has maintained a long-standing partnership with Oracle spanning nearly four decades. The financial terms of this transaction have not been disclosed.
